Tim Culpepper records debut album at Playground Recording Studio

Tim Culpepper is a refreshing new Country Artist that brings back the traditional country sound on his debut album “Ghost”. With sounds that reminds you of the likes of Randy Travis, Keith Whitley, Gene Watson, and George Jones; It’s at this very moment you realize that you’ve just discovered honest-to-goodness real Country Music again! And that feeling, of hearing multiple country legends together on one song, is simply the answer to the question George Jones posed in his 1986 hit, “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes?”

Tim spent much of the month of July at Playground Recording Studio recording his album with Producer Elbert West. With the recent release of his first single and video, “Ghost”, Tim continues the process of bringing full circle, a journey that began as a simple honkytonk love story under the neon lights of Montgomery, Alabama.

Session Updates

Regi Stone

We had the pleasure of being apart of Regi’s latest album “Holy Night”. This is Regi’s first ever Christmas record and its going to be a great one. He teamed up with Producer and Arranger Phillip Keveren. Listen to what Regi had to say about this amazing album.

“Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love feeling the chill in the air, coming home to a warm fire, and making hot cocoa with extra marshmallows for my kids every morning. I can’t wait to begin rushing through the mall with all the last minute shoppers, enjoying my wife’s Red Velvet Cake, and praying for snow on Christmas Eve. Most of all, I love singing about the baby whose birth changed everything.

Over the last several years I’ve wanted to record a Christmas project and I’m so excited that it has finally happened. I trust you’ll enjoy the City of Prague Philharmonic Strings and all the wonderful musicians who contributed their talents to this record. It’s so much easier to sing when the musical backdrop is great. As you play this CD, I hope these songs will become part of your best memories ever. There’s nothing quite like Christmas. Tim Culpepper

This Summer we had the pleasure of working with Tim Culpepper on his debut album on Mootown Records. With Producer Elbert West and Engineer Matt Coles, they spent the good part of July working on this great traditional country album. The album which is currently being mixed by Grammy nominated engineer Greg Droman, will be released very soon.

Playground Recording was proud to have American Idol Contestant, Dave Pittman here recording Vocals and Orchestra for his upcoming album. Dave entrusted the record to Dave Bechtel to produce and together they have created an amazing sounding album. The songs on this album are a wonderful blend of Pop and Soul.

Dave Pittman, an American Idol contestant from Season 9, travels and shares his story of how he lives with Tourette syndrome, yet despite his condition, it does not affect him while he is performing. Dave pushed through obstacles and landed his trip to Hollywood with a golden ticket in hand.

He is now taking his experience from idol, his music, his story, and his talent throughout the US. He continues to impact children, teenagers, college students, and adults by sharing the message that if they “just believe” in themselves, they can accomplish anything, cope with extreme challenges, and live out their dreams.

Don Moen

We were honored to have Dove Award winning Recording Artist Don Moen record tracks in Studio A for his upcoming album. Don brought in a group of world class musicians and engineers to work along side of him to create his new record. Don has been nominated for 11 Dove Awards and won with his song “God with Us” in 1994. His new Album “Uncharted Territory” will be available later this year. Independent Recording Artist

Richard Harris

Playground Recording was proud to have Richard Harris record his debut independently released album. Richard was calling around a few of the recording studios in Nashville, TN and came across our site. We helped him connect with a local producer, Dave Bechtel and he put together a killer band of studio musicians. As part of the recording process we connected him with an amazing songwriter in Chad Cates. Chad helped craft some of Richard Songs and wrote a few new ones with him.

After selecting the songs Dave hired the musicians, we helped find a Grammy Award winning Engineer in Greg Droman, and made this session happen for Richard. The album turned out amazing and Richard is excited to get out and start playing his songs back home in St.Louis.
